What’s worse than finding pythons in the shower? Realizing you caught them in the act

A woman attempting to use the shower at her home on Australia’s Sunshine Coast discovered it was occupied by two large pythons clearly on intimate terms.

She immediately called for help, and a photo shared by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 shows they arrived to find the snakes clearly needed to get a room.

“Imagine walking in to have a shower to see these two snakes already in there,” the service wrote in an Oct. 16 Facebook post. “The elderly lady got the fright of her life and called us straight away.”

How “the two troublemakers” got into the shower was not revealed, but they were escorted out and freed “back into the bush.”

Sunshine Coast didn’t say if the two were mating or fighting, but Animalia reports October through mid-December is carpet python mating season in Australia.

The Facebook post had 6,400 reactions and comments as of Oct. 18, with many noting python “hanky panky in the bathroom” is a good reason to move. Others were more sympathetic, noting the nonvenomous snakes at least had the courtesy not to use the toilet.

“Was she more shocked about the pythons or what they were doing in her shower?” Gemma Laws asked.

“They look like they’re already steaming up the shower,” Tracey Nielsen posted.

“Do they normally shower together,” Sharon Lake said.

“The only people I’d be calling would be the estate agents and that would be on my way to the airport,” Becky Thorpe wrote.
