Motorcyclist plunges off cliff into river and dies during chase, Oregon cops say
Rafters found the body of a 46-year-old man the morning after he plunged from a cliff into a river while riding a motorcycle, Oregon officials said.
Brock Andrew Ewers, from Grants Pass, lost control of his bike during a pursuit, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office said in a June 10 post on Facebook.
A deputy tried to pull over Ewers’ “speeding motorcycle” at about 10:30 p.m. June 8, but he didn’t stop, according to the agency.
He eventually “crashed off a cliff and into the Rogue River below,” deputies said.
First responders launched a raft and used a drone to search the area, according to deputies.
At about 10 a.m. June 9, rafters found Ewers’ body, deputies said.
Oregon State Police is investigating the crash, deputies said.
Grants Pass is about a 140-mile drive south from Eugene.
