A driver took a baby out of his car during an argument and fatally ran over the 8-month-old, according to investigators in North Florida.

It happened early Saturday, Jan. 25, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office did not specify whether the killing was intentional.

“The suspect, 20-year-old Justin Golden, was driving with a female passenger and the 8-month-old baby in the car when he and the passenger got into an argument,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

“Golden took the baby out of the car before leaving the scene, hitting the baby with the car. The baby died.”

He was arrested soon after and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child under 18 years by culpable negligence and vehicular homicide, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators did not release details of why the driver removed the child and did not report the suspect’s relationship to the child or the woman.
