A Kentucky woman was shocked to see what creature her home security camera spotted in her yard.

Lexie Mullins posted the video on Facebook Nov. 9. It showed her yard at 9:05 p.m. But it’s the animal that was in her yard that brought over 160,000 views to the video.

“KANGAROO /LOOSE/ IN CHAVIES, KENTUCKY,” the post said.

The video showed what Mullins believed to be a kangaroo standing in her yard then hopping around.

“I never thought I would see the day,” she said.

Although Mullins believed the animal was a kangaroo, the Louisville Zoo said they believe it is a wallaby, according to WDKY. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife also confirmed the wallaby is a lost pet of a Perry County resident.

“It is our understanding that the wallaby is still on the loose,” Kentucky Fish and Wildlife told the news outlet on Nov. 12.

The runaway wallaby made another appearance at Mullins’ home at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 12, according to another security video she posted on Facebook.

Wallabies and kangaroos are a part of the same family, however, kangaroos are much larger, according to Seaquest. Wallabies grow to be roughly 3 feet tall, where kangaroos typically grow to be 8 feet tall.

Chavies, Kentucky, is about a 115-mile drive southeast of Lexington.
