Man proposes to girlfriend with ring — and her favorite sharp-toothed creature. See it
Some people’s idea of a picture perfect proposal backdrop is on a beach or during a candle lit dinner.
Pierce Lancaster of Colorado knew his girlfriend would want a different kind of ambiance — so he incorporated her favorite reptilian creature into their special moment, video shows.
In the video shared June 23 on Facebook, Lancaster reaches into a nondescript box along a walkway at Colorado Gator Farm in Mosca and pulls out the ring — and a small gator — to present to Sam Bogle.
“What’s in that box?” the person recording the video says as Bogle is distracted by a conversation.
She turns around to see Lancaster kneeling down with the ring in one hand and the alligator in the other and grins before saying yes to his proposal.
As he slips the ring onto her finger, her right hand hovers near the alligator’s open mouth and sharp teeth. “Watch your fingers!” someone warns.
She pulls back but then strokes the small alligator’s head.
“You were supposed to make her take it off his wrist,” the person recording says.
Reminded of his plan, Lancaster asks if Bogle wants to put it back on the alligator so they can do it the right way. She declines but thanks the reptile for its participation.
“This is so sweet,” she says. “This is so beautiful. Thank you.”
Lancaster puts the alligator back into the box and kisses his fiancé.
“Sam Bogle from Alamosa is a huge fan of alligators so when it came time to propose, her boyfriend Pierce Lancaster decided to do it at Colorado Gators,” the farm said on Facebook. “He (chose) the greenhouse under the fig tree as the place to pop the question. Congratulations Sam and (Pierce)!”
Bogle commented on the post thanking the gator farm for its help: “Thank you for helping to make it SO special for us!”
