Taco Bell fan favorites to return after 10-year hiatus. Here’s when and what to know
Taco Bell is bringing back a fan favorite not seen since the 2010s — but not for long.
The Volcano Menu is making a comeback, arriving at restaurants nationwide on June 29, the California-based taco chain announced in a news release.
Rewards members get early access starting Tuesday, June 27.
Drawing on nostalgia, customers will have their pick of menu classics including the Volcano Taco and Double Beef Volcano Burrito for a limited time, according to Taco Bell. There’s also an option to add Lava Sauce to any entree — for an extra fee.
The Volcano Menu made its debut in 1995 and has amassed “a cult-like following who have relentlessly championed its return,” the restaurant said. This time, Taco Bell teamed up with socialite and DJ Paris Hilton to ring in the menu’s return with a new hotline at 1-844-THTS-HOT.
For $2.49, fans can get a Volcano Taco featuring seasoned beef, shredded lettuce and a three-cheese blend with Lava Sauce in a crunchy taco shell, according to a product description.
The equally spicy burrito comes with seasoned rice, beef, a three-cheese blend, reduced fat sour cream, Fiesta tortilla strips and Lava Sauce in a flour tortilla for $3.99.
The offerings haven’t been available since 2013 and are part of the latest menu shakeup after Taco Bell announced its Crunchwrap was going vegan, McClatchy News reported.
