Mischievous cat missing in NC found safe — under owners’ brand new shower, photos show
Firefighters got a unique call on Saturday, May 6, in North Carolina after a cat went missing in a home.
The Town of Surf City Fire Department responded to a call that a cat had gotten stuck underneath the floorboards of a newly remodeled shower, the department said on Facebook.
“We never know what kind of calls we will be paged out to. Sometimes our furry friends need our help,” the fire department said.
The cat was believed to have gone into a hole in the floorboards during construction while no one was looking and the gap was sealed before anyone realized the pet was inside, the firefighters said.
Rescuers pried out the new shower and cut a big chunk to access the floorboards and help the cat, photos showed.
The cat was not harmed, the department said.
“No job too big or too small,” one viewer commented on the department’s Facebook page. “Great job.”
Surf City is about 35 miles northeast of Wilmington.
