A Las Vegas woman remains jailed, after police accused her of stabbing Michael Jackson’s niece several times and hurling racial slurs in what authorities believe was a racially motivated attack.

Authorities have charged Angela Bonell, 22, with attempted murder with a deadly weapon in the May 30 incident, Vegas station KSNV reported. A hate crime enhancement has also been added.

The story went viral after Yasmine Jackson, 25, detailed the attack in a recent Instagram post, sharing chilling photos of her injuries.

I was stabbed 7 times right by my house because “I’m a nigger”. This woman chased me down and started stabbing me. She said it’s because I was a nigger and that’s all I could hear while I was being stabbed. I can’t move my neck at all. I’m scared to be alone. I asked people to help me because she was stabbing me and nobody helped. Until someone did, actually a few people did & I am thankful for you. I pray to God that if you have any kind of hatred in your heart towards black people that you heal it. I didn’t deserve this, nobody does. Oh & btw I’m still fucking proud to be black. @shaunking , please help me. They only are charging her with a felony battery with a deadly weapon. I feel like she deserves attempted murder and also this is a HATE CRIME. SHE CALLED ME A NIGGER & THERE ARE WITNESSES SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE PLEASE!!!!!!! Update: THEY BOOKED HER FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, BATTERY WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, AND A HATE CRIME. NOW SHES GETTING EVALUATED TO SEE IF SHE IS COMPETENT ENOUGH TO STAND TRIAL. ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Bonell was arrested May 30 after authorities were called to an apartment complex on reports of an assault, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. There, witnesses told police they heard yelling and Bonell “calling her neighbor racist terms while stabbing her in the head and body,” according to the newspaper.

Police said the incident was sparked by a noise complaint. Bonell lived in the apartment above Jackson and said her downstairs neighbor was being too loud, according to an incident report obtained by KNSV.

After Bonnell allegedly threw a broom at Jackson and another person, a chase ensued. Bonell ran after Jackson and caught her, slashing Jackson in the face and neck, the report states.

Witnesses were able to overpower Bonell and pinned her to the security gate until police arrived, according to the Review-Journal.

Recalling the incident, Jackson said she’s now “scared to be alone.”

“I pray to God that if you have any kind of hatred in your heart towards black people that you heal it,” she wrote on Instagram. “I didn’t deserve this, nobody does.”

Bonell remains jailed on $100,000 bail, online jail records show. A competency hearing is scheduled for July 10.
