Kidnapped woman tied with leash and raped escapes out second-floor window, MO cops say
A woman was drugged, tied with a dog leash and raped during a kidnapping in Missouri, police say.
She eventually escaped from a second-floor window, media outlets report.
Tiffany Lentz, a 34-year-old Kansas City woman, and 37-year-old Nicholas Madrid of Springfield are charged in the case, KOLR reported.
The woman overheard Lentz tell others last month that she planned to force her into prostitution to pay off a debt for lodging, the Springfield News-Leader reported. When the woman tried to run out of the house, Lentz had a man shut the door and keep her inside, the newspaper reported.
Lentz took the woman to a bedroom, hit her several times and tied her with zip ties before forcing her to swallow a pill that made her fall asleep, the Springfield News-Leader reported.
Then the woman told police she was held captive in another Springfield home for about a week, accusing Madrid of tying her up, threatening her with a gun and sexually assaulting her, the Ozarks Independent reported. The woman told investigators that Madrid “played a choking game on her,” restraining her with a dog leash and silver chain, KOLR reported.
The woman escaped by jumping from a second-floor window and running to a nearby home for help, the Springfield News-Leader reported.
Lentz is charged with kidnapping, facilitating a felony, terrorizing and inflicting injury, records show. Madrid is charged with rape or attempted rape, records show.
