Shopper dragged over 200 feet by purse snatchers with getaway car in Minnesota video

Purse snatchers in Minnesota sneaked up behind a shopper loading items into her car and slammed her against their car, police say.

Then they dragged the woman 75 yards through the snowy parking lot, video shows.

St. Paul, Minnesota, police are urging people to be aware of their surroundings during holiday shopping. Since just before Black Friday, the city has reported 20 cases of suspects stealing bags or purses, according to a news release.

“They sneak up from behind. They jump out of stolen cars. They strike at all hours of the day and night, in all parts of the city. Their victims are women, walking alone, typically carrying a purse or bag,” police wrote in the news release.

The video released by police shows the robbers slowly drive up behind a woman and grab her purse, then hit her against their car.

“Unfortunately, her arm got caught in the strap,” police said.

That’s when the woman was dragged over 200 feet across the parking lot while robbers made their getaway, video shows. She was not seriously injured, police said.
