‘Just slammed him’: Dash camera captures Jeep as it hits and flips man on a scooter

An intense dash camera video shows the moment a Jeep and a scooter collided in a Texas intersection.

“As soon as he got in front of the Jeep, (the car) just slammed him,” Luis Lopez said, according to KVUE. Lopez’ dash camera video of the Monday night crash was obtained by Storyful.

In the video, the man on the motorized scooter can be seen heading toward the intersection in Austin, Texas, just moments before he and a black Jeep collide. They hit at about 8:40 p.m. at the corner of West 22nd and San Antonio, KVUE reported.

The scooter rider was flipped into the air and then landed in the road, the video shows. Witnesses came running to help.

The man on a scooter was rushed to a hospital and has life-threatening injuries, KTBC reported.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the crash, KEYE reported.
