Yellow Cat to add to the colorful mix in Delano

WICHITA — Another new store is joining the mix in the already colorful Delano.

The Yellow Cat will open Aug. 1 at 613 B W. Douglas just south of the clock tower.

“It’s going to be a big collection of a lot of stuff,” says owner Ginger Jones.

That includes used books.

"It's kind of been a dream of mine to open a bookstore," Jones says.

But she also will sell new decorative items, antique collectibles, art and furniture.

The store, which may have a soft opening in late July, will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays.

"Somebody told me those are barber hours," Jones says.

She's excited about the range of items she'll carry.

"I'm hoping to have something for everyone who walks through the store."
