Fifty-seven Kansas schools – including six in the Wichita area – have earned the Governor’s Achievement Award, which honors top-performing schools in the state, the Kansas Department of Education announced Thursday.
To receive the award, schools had to receive a building-level Assessment Performance Index score in the top 80 percent in math and reading. Schools also had to be in the top 5 percent of schools.
Wichita-area schools receiving the award were: Apollo Elementary and Discovery Intermediate School, Goddard; Wheatland Elementary, Andover; and Holy Spirit Catholic School, St. Patrick Catholic School and Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, part of the Wichita Diocese.
