Jim McNiece filed Thursday for re-election to the Kansas State Board of Education, District 10.
Originally elected in 2012, McNiece has been a longtime south-central Kansas educator and held several leadership positions during his tenure.
He has been chair of the Kansas State Board of Education, president of the National Association of State Boards of Education, and member of the Kansas State Board of Education communications committee.
McNiece spent 38 years as a Wichita area educator. He is retired from the Wichita public schools as founding principal of Northeast Magnet High School, Wichita; principal of Bishop Carroll High School; principal of Udall High School; and history teacher and football and track coach at Thomas More Prep at Hays.
