The Wichita chapter of the Society of Women Engineers is inviting area children to an engineering expo in February.

The expo, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at Century II Exhibition Hall, will feature hands-on activities for children in kindergarten through eighth grade to learn how engineering relates to the world around us.

Participating organizations include the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Kansas Cosmosphere, Kansas Aviation Museum, MakeICT, the National Weather Service and Wichita State University.

Participants must have a parent or guardian present during the expo. The event is free. You can sign up in advance at http://wichitaswe.org/expo, but pre-registration is not required.

The expo and workshops are sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers and Spirit AeroSystems. For more information, visit http://wichitaswe.org/expo.
