Every Tuesday this November, you can drink beer to support local classrooms.

Central Standard Brewing will team up with Project Teacher to host a “Pints for Pencils” fundraiser every Tuesday in November at the brewery, 156 S. Greenwood.

For every pint of beer sold on Tuesdays, Central Standard will donate $1 to Project Teacher to help kick off its end-of-year campaign to get more resources into classrooms.

In addition, Project Teacher pint glasses — designed by local artist Hannah Scott — will be available to purchase, and all the proceeds will go to the organization. Also, 20 percent of proceeds from Central Standard merchandise sold on Tuesdays will go to Project Teacher.

During the fundraiser, anyone who takes a selfie with their beer at CSB on Tuesdays and posts it on social media with the hashtag #Pints4PencilsICT will be entered into a weekly drawing to receive classroom supplies for a classroom of their choice. Winners will be announced by the end of each week in November.

Since it launched four years ago, Project Teacher has distributed more than $5 million in supplies to local classrooms. The organization operates a resource center for teachers at 1435 N. Waco.

The brewery at 156 S. Greenwood is the only craft brewery in Kansas that has the on-site canner. (Oct. 29, 2015)
