Crime Stoppers: Theft of car keys at Genesis Health led to home burglary
The crime
About 1:15 p.m. on July 5, a man stole a wallet and keys from the tennis courts at Genesis Health in the 800 block of North Socora. The suspect used the remote door lock on the keys to locate the owner’s car and drive it away.
During the next several hours the man used the victim’s credit cards at numerous businesses. At some point he parked the car in a parking lot near a home in the 800 block of South Seneca. The house was burglarized at about 8 p.m.
The burglary was interrupted by friends of the resident. The stolen car keys were found in the house. Another vehicle was used to remove the stolen property from
the home.
