The crime

At about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, a woman got out of her car in the alley behind 1401 E. Douglas. She was walking toward her house carrying groceries when she was attacked from behind by a man with a knife. He cut her face, took her purse and ran away. Her wallet was later recovered near Second and Hydraulic. She suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is a black man in his 30s, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-4 and about 240 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The knife was silver with a fixed blade. The woman’s stolen property included a navy blue leather Michael Kors tote purse with gold trim that contained a blue iPhone 5c in a white case.

In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward of up to $2,500, an anonymous donor also is offering a $1,000 reward for the Crime Stoppers tip that solves this case.
