Police need public’s help in shooting near Days Inn

The crime

About 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, officers responded to a call about a walk-in shooting at an area hospital. They learned that there were four occupants in a vehicle at the intersection of Kellogg and Woodlawn when it was struck by

gunfire.

They had just left a party at the Days Inn on East Kellogg when a black Chrysler pulled behind them. The rear window of the suspect vehicle rolled down. There were four men in the back seat and two men in the front seat. An occupant in the Chrysler fired at the other vehicle, causing damage to its rear. An occupant in the back seat was hit by a bullet. She was treated at the hospital.

Officers found 23 cartridge casings at the scene.
