Bourbon County man gets life sentence in baby’s death
A Bourbon County man convicted of killing a 6-month-old boy last year was ordered Friday to spend life in prison.
Jurors found 22-year-old Anthony Michael Anderson guilty in May of one count of first-degree murder and one count of child abuse in connection with the child’s death, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a statement. The infant – identified by southeast Kansas news outlets as Aiden J. Osborn – died on April 28, 2015, after he was injured in Fort Scott.
Anderson will be eligible for parole after serving 25 years of his sentence, Schmidt said. He is a resident of Fulton, which is about 13 miles north of Fort Scott.
