A 33-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound in his leg during a fight in a Wichita hotel parking lot, police said Friday.

The man’s wound appeared to be non-life-threatening, Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said.

She gave this account: The victim said that he had argued with another man he met earlier at the Twin Peaks restaurant. That is near the Value Place Hotel parking lot in the 7500 block of West Taft. The shooting happened in the hotel parking lot at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

The suspect reportedly got out of a white SUV and pointed a handgun. A fight broke out, and the suspect dropped the gun.

A second suspect picked up the gun, hit the 33-year-old in the head and shot him once in the leg, causing a “through-and-through” wound. There is an ongoing investigation.
