Wichita police – citing an increase in thefts from cars – on Tuesday urged the public to be more diligent about keeping vehicle windows up and doors locked.
Thieves are finding plenty of easy targets where they can quickly try door handles, police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. A theft from an unlocked car takes only seconds, she said.
People should keep valuables and medication out of vehicles and should call in reports of people acting suspiciously, Woodrow said.
