Police arrest four in home burglary near 21st and Oliver

Four people were arrested after a resident returned to the home they were burglarizing Monday afternoon, police said.

The teenager came home at about 5 p.m. Monday in the 5400 block of East Looman as one of the suspects was leaving the residence, Lt. James Espinoza said. Officers responding to the scene saw three suspects in a vehicle and a short chase ensued.

The vehicle stopped a short distance away and one of the three suspects inside the vehicle got out and ran, Espinoza said. The car accelerated again and the chase resumed until it ended in the 2000 block of North Old Manor, south of 21st and near White Chapel Cemetery.

The two suspects still in the car were arrested. The four people taken into custody were: two 19-year-old men, a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.

Officers found several items taken in the burglary inside the vehicle, Espinoza said. Their combined value exceeded $7,000.
