Armed robber hits gas station in southeast Wichita

The Presto convenience store on South Rock Road was robbed for the third time in three months Tuesday night.

The most recent robbery of the store at 1250 S. Rock occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. The 18-year-old clerk working at the store reported a man walked in, pointed a gun at her and demanded cash from the register.

She complied and he left the area on foot. A police document indicated he stole $70.

The clerk told police the suspect was a black man in his 20s who has a thin build and was wearing all black clothing. He had a black mask or shirt covering his face and was carrying a black handgun.

The clerk was not injured in the incident, Woodrow said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is being asked to call the investigations section of the police department at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

Records show the same Presto was robbed on May 6 and July 21.
