Police write more than 40 seat belt citations Monday night

Officers in the Patrol East Bureau wrote dozens of seat belt citations Monday night.

Over a four-hour period beginning at 6 p.m., officers wrote 43 seat belt citations, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. Of that total, 36 were for adult violations.

Four more were for passengers who weren’t wearing their seat belts. Two were for teens 14 to 17 and one was a child restraint violation, Woodrow said.
