Shooting in southeast Wichita leaves man in critical condition
A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot twice early Tuesday morning in southeast Wichita, police said.
A woman called 911 at about 1:30 a.m. and reported that she heard multiple gunshots in the 1200 block of South Longfellow, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. That’s just west of Rock Road and just north of Harry.
Officers responding to the call found the man with a gunshot wound to his torso and another gunshot wound to his leg, Woodrow said. He was hospitalized in critical condition.
“We are looking for suspects,” Woodrow said, adding that it was unknown whether any had been identified.
Anyone with information related to the shooting is being asked to contact the investigations section at 316-268-4407.
