Wichita police have released photographs of the suspect in a robbery that occurred early Thursday morning.

The photos have been posted on the police department’s Facebook page, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. The man walked into the Presto in the 1200 block of South Rock Road just before 5 a.m. Thursday, jumped over the convenience store’s counter, battered the 30-year-old woman working as a clerk and stole money and cigarettes, police have said.

The clerk fled to a bathroom and hid until the robber left the store. He wasn’t wearing a mask and surveillance cameras obtained clear views of his face.

“We’re pretty confident that ... somebody knows him,” Woodrow said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is being asked to call the investigations section at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
