Ice cream truck robbed at gunpoint
Three people flagged down an ice cream truck Monday afternoon and ordered ice cream – but they also had a nasty surprise for the driver, police said.
One of the trio pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the 59-year-old woman driving the truck at about 2 p.m. Monday in the 5500 block of West Murdock, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. That's just east of I-235 and north of Central.
The driver complied, and the man and two women with him left in a 1990s light blue Honda or Ford Taurus with a 60-day tag, Woodrow said. A police report indicated they stole $26.
