Former tribal casino worker sentenced for embezzlement
A former tribal casino worker was ordered Monday to serve five years of federal probation for embezzling, U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said in a prepared statement.
Donald M. Collins, 32, of Wetmore, admitted to making fake players cards and putting unearned free play credits on cards owned by his friends while he was employed by the Sac and Fox Casino. The value of the cards and the winnings generated from them was $30,766. Prosecutors say he and others gambled with them.
Collins pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement and theft from an Indian tribal organization in March. The casino is owned by the Sac and Fox Nation of Kansas and Nebraska.
