Seat belt enforcement on Broadway yields nearly 50 violations

Wichita police issued nearly 50 seat belt citations over a four-hour period Monday on South Broadway.

The officers monitored the 2800 block of South Broadway from 5 to 9 p.m., Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said. During that time, they issued 49 citations - including 24 for adults.

There were also five equipment violations, three child passenger safety citations, three proof-of-insurance violations, two driver’s license violations, two passing violations, one seat belt violation for a child between 14 and 17 and nine other violations.
