Kingman man gets more than 16 years for murder
A Kingman man was ordered Tuesday to serve more than 16 years in prison for shooting another man in the head in December 2014, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a news release.
Kingman County District Court Judge Francis Meisenheimer imposed the 195-month term on 52-year-old David Michael Younger, who was convicted by a jury in May of the second-degree murder of Danny R. Ely.
Ely, 62, was found dead from a gunshot wound after authorities responded to a suspicious death report on Dec. 15, 2014. Younger was arrested by the Kingman County Sheriff’s Office that same day.
Younger on Tuesday also was ordered to serve three years of post-release supervision after he completes his prison sentence, Schmidt said.
