South Wichita Burger King robbed early Sunday

Wichita police are investigating a robbery that happened Sunday morning in the 1900 block of East Pawnee.

Police were called to the Burger King location after a 24-year-old employee called to report a robbery shortly after 4:40 a.m., according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

When officers arrived, the employee told them that two unknown men entered the business with handguns, demanding money.

The men took an unknown amount of cash, a wallet from a 30-year-old employee and a cellphone from another 22-year-old.

The two men then left the Burger King in an unknown direction, Kennedy said.

There were no injuries.
