Teenage girl sought by police in attempted store robbery
Wichita police are looking for a teenage girl who attempted to rob a Circle K convenience store early Sunday.
The attempted robbery happened at 1:05 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Oliver.
When officers arrived on the scene, a 20-year-old employee told police the girl came into the store with a large kitchen knife and demanded money, according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
The employee locked himself into his work area, and the girl left the store running on foot in a northeast direction.
There were no injuries reported and no loss to the store, Kennedy said.
