Police: Two report robbery after giving three men a ride
Two men reported being robbed after giving a ride to three other men Friday night, Wichita police Sgt. Wendell Nicholson said Saturday.
The two men reported picking up a male stranger at a QuikTrip on Broadway at around 7:25 p.m. and being asked to drive to another location, where two other men got in the car.
While they were driving, one of the riders, in the back seat, pulled out a gun and said, “This is a robbery,” and told the driver to take them to an ATM, Nicholson said.
While they were in the 500 block of East Pawnee, the car died because of an ignition interlock device, Nicholson said. One of the riders then pointed a gun at one of the two men in the front seat and took his money and cellphone, Nicholson said. The three passengers then fled on foot, he said. There were no injuries and there have been no arrests, he said.
