Sheriff’s Office identifies man killed in Oaklawn
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has identified 39-year-old Troy Philbrick as the victim of a Friday morning fatal shooting in Oaklawn.
Emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at about 4 a.m. Friday from a house in the 4200 block of East Wildflower, said Sedgwick County sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning, at the scene, which is between the city limits of Derby and Wichita.
The four residents reported that they heard noise and gunshots, Dehning said. A 39-year-old man was found in the house with at least one gunshot wound. None of the residents saw the shooting, near 47th South and K-15.
“We don’t know how many people were involved, or a suspect description,” Dehning said. “Right now our investigative division is diligently working the case, and we’re relying on our partnership with the public, asking for anyone with information to come forward.”
An autopsy was being conducted Friday afternoon, according to a news release from Dehning.
Authorities have no suspect information, Dehning said. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 316-660-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
