A domestic incident led to a shooting in south Wichita on Friday night, according to police.

Wichita police Sgt. Joe Kennedy said officers responded to a domestic violence call from the 500 block of East MacArthur Road, near Broadway, at about 9:15 p.m.

As a 21-year-old woman and 40-year-old man attempted to leave a mobile home park in a vehicle, according to the woman’s account, a 24-year-old man fired one shot toward the couple from a handgun, police said. No injuries were reported.

Officers later located the suspect, the woman’s brother, and transported him to the Sedgwick County Jail. The suspect was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Kennedy said the woman was acquainted with the 40-year-old man, though their exact relationship was not clear.
