Teen robbed when he tries to trade Air Jordans for drugs
He thought he was going to be swapping some Air Jordan shoes for prescription medication.
But when the 17-year-old boy met up with another 17-year-old boy to complete the trade Thursday, he found himself staring at a handgun, police said. The swap gone south occurred at about 5:15 p.m. in the 500 block of North Gilda, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. That’s near Central and I-235.
Instead of getting the drugs, the teen lost his Air Jordans — and his cellphone.
Police have the name of the suspect and are looking for him, Schroeder said.
