Wichita police are looking for a man who reportedly robbed a Loansmart employee at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon and his getaway driver.
Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said the two men fled southbound on Broadway in a black Toyota Camry after one walked into the store, 3912 S. Broadway, at about 1:15 p.m., demanded money and took personal items from the 30-year-old woman working there. Witnesses described the gunman as black, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds wearing a black Nike-brand hooded sweatshirt and black pants with red stripes down the legs, Espinoza said.
The driver was Asian, about 5-feet, 11 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds, he said.
The Camry may have had out-of-state tags, Espinoza said.
Espinoza wouldn’t give specifics on the items stolen or the amount of cash lost. Loansmart bills itself as providing cash loans on car titles.
