Man arrested after police find him riding stolen bike
A burglar’s getaway was thwarted early Sunday when Wichita Police found him riding on a stolen Bicycle X-Change bicycle less than a half mile from the store.
Wichita police responded to an audible alarm at the store on 900 W. Douglas shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
When officers arrived at the Bicycle X-Change, they discovered the store’s window had been broken and called store employees.
A short time later, Kennedy said, officers located a 27-year-old man in the area riding a stolen bike. A store employee identified the bicycle.
The man was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary and felony theft.
