Pizza Hut delivery man robbed of pizza and cash

Wichita police are investigating a robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery man in the 2000 block of North Piatt.

The robbery was reported at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

When officers arrived at the robbery, the 28-year-old delivery man told police he had received an order for several large pizzas.

When he went to a house to deliver them, a man holding a gun answered the door and told him to come inside.

“The victim stated that after entering the residence, the suspect took a small amount of cash belonging to Pizza Hut – and the pizzas,” Kennedy said.

The delivery man was allowed to leave while the armed man and some teenagers fled the house, which was vacant.

The delivery man was uninjured.
