Four students charged in Haysville Middle School bomb threat

Four teenage boys from Haysville were charged Monday with conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.

The four are all students at Haysville Middle School and were arrested last week after social media posts indicated they were plotting to bomb and shoot people on school grounds.

All four remain in custody awaiting hearings, according to a release issued Monday by Haysville police Chief Jeff Whitfield.

“As we have stated before, any cases of this nature are taken very seriously (and) will be investigated thoroughly,” Whitfield said in the statement.

Police continue to investigate.

“The safety and security of our community and schools is our paramount concern,” Whitfield said.
