Four teens were arrested following a shooting near Central and Hillside on Saturday morning that police said was gang-related.
An officer on patrol heard numerous gunshots at about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North Hillside, then saw a black Dodge and a red Ford driving north on Hillside at a high rate of speed, Police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. The officer began chasing the vehicles and caught the black Dodge several minutes later in the 1200 block of North Minneapolis.
Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old, all males, were arrested there, and a third 17-year-old was arrested about a block away after he ran from where the car stopped, Woodrow said.

A 17-year-old in the red Ford walked into Wesley Medical Center with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, she said. The 23-year-old driver of the Ford was later arrested on an outstanding warrant.
An estimated 10 to 12 shots were fired in the incident, Woodrow said, but it’s unclear how many weapons were used in the shooting.
