Sunday morning shooting leaves man in critical condition

Wichita police are investigating an early Sunday shooting that left a 24-year-old man in critical condition.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Vine shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. They found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the chest, according to Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The man was transported to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

Witnesses were transported to the city building for interviews, Kennedy said.

At this time, Kennedy said, there is no known motive for the shooting or a suspect description.
