A motorist on Thursday night threw a trailer hitch onto another car on West Kellogg in what police are calling a road-rage incident.

Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow gave this account on Friday morning: The incident occurred in the 100 block of West Kellogg, in the Central Business District, about 10 p.m. Thursday. A 21-year-old woman driving a maroon Cadillac noticed a newer black “lifted” pickup with large tires traveling very close behind her. The truck moved to the lane beside her, and the man driving the pickup threw a trailer hitch onto the passenger side of her car, damaging the tire and wheel area. The woman, who had no passengers and was not injured, was able to pull over.

She reported that there was no exchange of words, only that he was following closely before he threw out the hitch.
