A 67-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being attacked and robbed in a downtown convenience store Wednesday morning, police said.

Police are still looking for the suspect in the attack, which occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the QuikTrip at 1010 E. Douglas, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said. That’s at Douglas and Washington.

Police have released photos of the suspect gleaned from surveillance cameras at the convenience store, but Woodrow said no arrest has been made. The victim suffered significant head injuries after being struck several times with a piece of concrete.

The victim and suspect were the only two people in the bathroom at the time of the incident, police have said. The suspect stole the victim’s wallet and its contents.
