Prosecutors on Tuesday charged a 22-year-old man with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the city’s latest homicide.

Family members of 19-year-old Mekko Stumblingbear last week said he was shot with a gun in the living room of his boss’s house at 1823 W. McCormick while his coworkers were handling airsoft-style firearms. Stumblingbear’s death was first reported as a suicide, but authorities later determined he was killed by another person.

Police arrested and jailed Jacob Pulliam on Friday, about 7 1/2 hours after the shooting.

Stumblingbear was working on a demolition crew at Cessna Aircraft.

Pulliam is due back in Sedgwick County District Court on the involuntary manslaughter charge May 10, according to Sedgwick County District Court records.

He remained in Sedgwick County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $100,500 bond.
