Police: Man, 27, stabbed as men rob him near Pawnee and Oliver

A 27-year-old man was robbed Saturday night as he was walking along a creek in the 2500 block of South George Washington Boulevard, near Pawnee.

The man told Wichita police that he was approached by two men in their 20s, one carrying a knife, according to Sgt. Bob Gulliver, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The two demanded the man’s wallet; the one with the knife began making stabbing gestures with the knife. The 27-year-old gave the men his wallet and sustained minor lacerations to both hands.

He was transported to Wesley Medical Center for minor injuries.

The suspects fled the area and have not been found by police, Gulliver said.
