Former Chetopa bank clerk gets probation for embezzlement

A former Labette County bank clerk who embezzled $83,963 was sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation, acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said in a news release.

A federal judge also ordered Angela S. Littlejohn, 41, of Chetopa to pay back all of the stolen money, Beall said in the release. Littlejohn, who was convicted of one count of embezzlement, admitted to stealing from multiple bank accounts while she was a Chetopa State Bank teller in 2013 and 2014. She pleaded guilty.

Littlejohn’s probation term includes eight months of house arrest, Beall said. The FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch investigated the case.
