Police: Bradley Fair burglar steals Cartier glass frames valued at $9,000
An off-duty Wichita police officer spotted a break-in at a Bradley Fair shop late Monday, but not before the burglar made off with thousands of dollars in high-end eyeglasses.
Wichita police spokesman Lt. James Espinoza said the officer saw shattered glass outside of Howard’s Optique at around 11 p.m., then saw a burglar go inside through the store’s broken front door and leave with his loot. The officer ran after him but didn’t catch up before the burglar got into a getaway car and fled from the shopping center, near 21st and Rock Road.
Police were able to identify two suspects — a 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman — using information the officer collected from the vehicle before it left, Espinoza said. The woman was driving, he said.
The burglar stole eight pairs of Cartier-brand eyeglass frames valued at $9,000, Espinoza said.
“Wichita police are looking for these two individuals,” he said.
