Man, woman arrested after robbery at South Market house

File photo

A man and a woman were arrested Friday night after an acquaintance reported that they had forced their way into his house and taken a bicycle and two cameras, Wichita police Sgt. Troy Nedbalek said Saturday.

The robbery took place in the 1800 block of South Market at about 7 p.m. Friday, Nedbalek said. That’s near Broadway and Harry.

The resident of the house, a 66-year-old man, said that a man and woman whom he knew forced their way in and threatened him, taking the bike and cameras. The man is 43, the woman, 44.

Police found the man and woman a short time later at Mount Vernon and Topeka; the cameras were in the woman’s possession, Nedbalek said. The man and woman were booked into jail on charges of robbery, he said.
